interesting article about pesticides and banana farming

Wow. One of the first steps of sustainability for those who are not growing or making the products is to find out what is local, what isn't, and how it is grown/made. This definitely helped with that. The changes being attempted are heartening.

i'm going to have to eat something else to stay connected to central america now. this is sad. :( these people should not have to exposed to these chemicals. you would think that now a days we would be able to safely grow something simple like a banana wihout it effecting millions of peoples lives.
